Chanda smiled with Barbar's response, and nodded in agreement. "I'll carry the both of you if I have to!" She said happily.
She enjoyed walking in the more rural parts of the country, enjoyed the sun beating down on her skin and the rare breeze sifting through her black hair --as you could imagine, she was very much looking forward to spending a night in a barn --and with a new friend, no less! No doubt, Barbar would have some interesting stories to tell; not just anybody became a mage. She looked at his dress curiously, and glanced down at hers, feeling somewhat under dressed.

The walk to Mr. Thom's farm was as he had told the adventurers: a long one. Barbar didn't mind though. It was an exceptionally beautiful day for walking. The sun shone brightly, while some very white clouds kept it from becoming too hot. A light breeze carried the scent of flowers to their noses, and the song of the birds around them was perfectly complemented by the soft splish-splashing sound of a nearby stream.

ooc: So is Wing not moderating this anymore? @_@
Chanda took her eyes away from the sky for a moment to once again look at her companion. He seemed very different stock from what she was made of, so she put a finger to her chin to think. Where would he have come from? What kind of family was he raised in? What kind of magic did he know?
"Hey, Barbar? Can you show me some magic?" Chanda asked the question seriously. She herself had not yet learned any magic, so would be incredibly impressed to be shown anything of it. She wondered when Mr. Thom's farm would come into sight, but in the mean time, why not become better acquainted with her new friend?

(ooc: Wing must be very busy, seeing as she hasn't really had time to update the RP campaigns and Dungeon Crawl... Ah well, we'll just continue without her... )
"Why, certainly!", Barbar exclaimed happily. Magic was so wonderful in his eyes, that he was always thrilled if someone displayed an interest in it. Of course, Barbar was also very proud of himself for becoming a Mage, so he was happy getting the chance to show his skills. Barbar decided to show Chanda one of his regular routines. It was a pretty simple trick, nothing too elaborate, but it was a good one to practice one's Magical control with.
Barbar pointed his left index finger upward and uttered a single spell syllable.
FU
Instantly, a 1 inch small flame appeared above his finger tip. Then the flame started to circle down around his hand, first slowly, then faster when it had reached the height of his handpalm. Barbar slowly dropped down his arm, the flame still circling around it. He opened his handpalm, face up, and the flame slowed down again and came to a stop half an inch above it.
"Be careful, this is pretty hot.", Barbar warned Chanda as he held out his hand for her to take a closer look.
When she had taken her look, Barbar decided to continue the practice routine.
FU
Another flame appeared, this time in Barbar's right hand. Then, with both flames, Barbar started juggling. Well, he wasn't really juggling of course, but just willing the flames to move in a circular pattern. The trick was to move his hands at the same time as if he was juggling, and take care to not let the flames touch his hands, while still letting them get so close that it looked good.
Barbar was always having fun doing this, and for the moment he had pretty much forgotten all about the quest he was on.
